The second release from City Seventeen is a split A-side single that brings together two previously unrecorded songs; the driving "Petrodollar" and a reworking of EP1"s "Analysis". Each physical record comes on 3" mini-CDR, packaged in a 3.5" floppy disc case, hand assembled and numbered by the band.
"Petrodollar" presents the listener with an desert landscape, lizards play while encoded transmissions slip past. There is a build up, a tense wait, and a cataclysm.
"Analysis (Redux)" is, as the name suggests a distillation of the themes and moods of "Analysis" which appears on EP1. Moving closer to rock than post-rock, Redux is faster-paced, and emphasises the anger simmering below the surface in the original.
